War of the Classes Jack London Books Reviews
i did not like this kind of reading ~ hard to follow ~ hard to pick up where you left off ~ boring
Read for a clear understanding of how capitalism has enslaved and made imbeciles of Americans. Capitalism is a failed American experiment in the same way Communism was a failed Russian experiment. At least the Russians were smart enough, in time, to see their mistake.
Fantastic look into the future. Loved it.
I always knew that Jack London was a socialist but i never knew he had written a book about it. He does a very innovative and different take on the subject at hand. Still useful read after all this years. Made me look back to Jack London in a new perspective, maybe i read some more of his fiction.
There are some very similar class thoughts for 2012. Most of this data was early 20th century and the statistics are the same.
I liked learning of the union busting efforts that began amidst the wealth gathering, by the wealth gatherers. Also, how his position changed once he was able to visualize himself affected by the effects of not being able to work.
Well worth my time.
In some ways we are back in 1905 all over again.
There are more workers than there are jobs.
Maybe the U.S now is same shape a England was in 1905 and ASIA is now the the Scab worker.
It is about the United States. In essence, not a lot has changed.
